I used my character to experiment with the walk cycle, there are 8 frames in this animation and I ran it at 5 fps. I am quite pleased with the result of this animation but I would of liked to experiment with different speeds and maybe try a running cycle.
We were asked to design a character that we could use to explore the 12 principles of animation with. This was my first design but I realized as soon as I had drawn it that I would be making things harder for myself if I was planning on animating this character as there is too much detail to it. So I decided to look into a much simpler design that wouldn’t be so hard to animate.
This is one of the tests I did to show the stretch movement of the 12 basic principles of animation. I did this using traditional animation and there are only 10 frames to this animation. I feel I should of exaggerated the movement more to really emphasize the stretch.
